Pakistan Petroleum Limited is a premier oil and gas exploration and production Company of the country. The Company is operating a number of oil and gas fields, the largest being gas field at Sui, name of which is synonymous with natural gas in Pakistan.

HEAD OF LEGAL AFFAIRS
The Company is looking for a seasoned professional with proven background of managing legal department of large local / multinational organisation preferably oil and gas exploration and production company, who has proficiency to deal with different legal matters and give his / her expert advice to protect Company's legal rights and interests. The position entails direct interaction with the top management and demands a high level of competency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Handling and assisting in the commercial negotiations of new petroleum concession agreements, Farm-in / Farm-out Agreements, Assignment Agreements and Joint Operating Agreements.

* Providing legal advice to the Management at every stage of its business to ensure that the Company is not exposed to any unwarranted liabilities, claims damages and penalties.

* Evaluate and negotiate commercial arrangements including gas sales and gas pricing agreements with the Government and the Buyers.

* Provide communications focal point on all commercial and legal matters pertaining to Company's business activities.

* Foster good relations with joint venture partners, government officials and counterparts in the industry.

* Provide specialised and expert legal support while keeping in view the commercial considerations.

* Supervise all litigation pending for adjudication in various courts and judicial forums to safeguard Company's commercial interests and legal rights.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS (QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE/ SKILLS):
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law from Foreign University.

* Candidates who are BAR-AT-LAW from UK or equivalent from USA would be preferred.

* Specialisation in petroleum law and commercial matters would be added advantage.
* 10-15 years of work experience with reputable law firms or oil and gas companies.

* Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills are desired.

* Ability to handle multiple task independently or with minimum supervision.

* Experience of handling alternative dispute resolution procedures e.g. arbitration would be considered useful.

* Preferred age below 45 years.
