COTTON SUPPLY CHAIN ORGANIZER REQUIRED

In South Asia, IKEA has trading offices in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, involved in sourcing a wide range of products in Plastic, Metals, Lighting, Textiles, Rugs & Carpets.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Leading, facilitating and organizing cotton procurement in cotton producing districts from cotton field projects and into IKEA’s local supply chain.
2. Implementation, technical support and management of the traceability system “myString” in the local IKEA supply chain.
3. Project management, developing work plans and budgets for the cotton procurement process.
4. Managing stakeholders involved in initiative
5. Regular internal and external reporting
Working Arrangements
1. The position is full-time and requires extensive traveling, especially during cotton harvest season.
2. The location of the employee is at the IKEA office in Karachi.
3. Support and training in myString system and additional necessary issues will be provided.
DESIRED PROFILE
* Experience in the cotton industry, Other agricultural commodities knowledge will be valuable.
* Experience and knowledge in textiles processing.
* Experience or knowledge of traceability in supply chains.
* Experience or knowledge about local cotton trading mechanisms in Punjab and Pakistan.
* Experience or knowledge of local cotton grading.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Complete fluency in Urdu and English with other languages such as Saraikee will be a significant advantage.
* Proven success in managing a timeline and outcomes.
* Ability to work independently, take initiative and engage others.
* Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload, and manage and lead multiple projects at one time.
* Proven track record in creating solutions with different perspectives and agendas.
